Valet Parking

By Adam Capelin

As you can imagine, space is at a premium in Japan, and this is especially true for car parks in a shopping complex. Instead of driving into a car park and finding your own space, this shopping complex will park your car for you.  Not so unusual?  Most classy hotels will do this for you.  Except this valet parking service is done by an automated car elevator.  Drive into the garage looking car park space in front of the entrance to the shopping mall.  Step out of your vehicle and take a ticket.  And watch as your car moves sideways into a car elevator that then parks your car god knows where.   Space is utilised effeciently and everyone can park at the front door!  Sugoi desu ne! Great isn’t it!
